Smoked Salmon Mac & Cheese
Serves: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 8 oz. elbow macaroni
- 8 oz. Tonka Seafoods Smoked Salmon
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1 oz. grated parmesan
Directions:
Cook your pasta in boiling, salted water or as instructed on the package.
As your pasta cooks, begin your cheese sauce. In a saucepan, melt 5 tablespoons of butter, and then add 4 tablespoons of flour, 2 1/2 cups of milk, and 1 teaspoon of mustard powder. Stir to eliminate clumping, and then allow the sauce to thicken. Once your sauce has thickened, add 1/2 cup of grated cheese, and stir until melted.
Once your pasta is al dente, pour the cheese sauce over the cooked pasta and flake your salmon into the pot before stirring to combine.
Transfer your mac & cheese into a baking dish, spreading it into an even layer. Sprinkle the top with parmesan cheese and broil for 4-5 minutes or until the top begins to brown. Enjoy!
